Traits are modifications that change a unit's attributes. By default, a unit receives two traits that are assigned at random (random traits) when it is created. Some units have fixed traits as a mandatory feature of their unit-type. Fixed traits take precedence over random traits. Non-living units typically only receive a single fixed trait denoting their status as non-living.
